StreamSTEP at the Metal AMS conference
On 25–26 March 2026, StreamSTEP partner SINTEF participated in the 3rd edition of the International Metal Additive Manufacturing Conference (Metal AMS), held at Cetim in Senlis, France.
During the event, Kai Zhang (SINTEF) presented key results from the StreamSTEP project in an oral presentation titled: “A novel aluminium alloy developed for additive manufacturing with superior properties at elevated temperatures”.
The presentation was delivered in Session S03-2: Materials & Characterization, and highlighted innovative developments in aluminium alloys tailored for additive manufacturing applications requiring enhanced performance at high temperatures.

About the Conference
Metal AMS Conference is the first French scientific event fully dedicated to metal additive manufacturing technologies. Organised by Metal AMS (Additive Manufacturing Synergy) in collaboration with leading international R&D organisations, the conference covers the entire additive manufacturing value chain.
Key topics include:
Design for additive manufacturing
Materials development and characterisation
Simulation
Direct and sintered-based processes
Monitoring, control, and qualification challenges
The 2026 edition placed a particular focus on the qualification of additively manufactured components, reflecting a growing need for reliability and standardisation in industrial applications.
Beyond the technical sessions, the conference also fostered networking and collaboration opportunities. Participants attended a gala dinner held at a prestigious venue near Senlis, while approximately fifteen exhibitors showcased their innovations throughout the event.
