StreamSTEP at the XVIII Spanish National Material Congress
From 16–19 June 2026, StreamSTEP partner ITC-AICE represented the project at the XVIII Spanish National Materials Congress (CNMAT 2026), held in Portugalete, Bilbao, Spain.
As part of the congress programme, Magdalena Lorente presented the poster entitled “Comparación multimétodo de alúmina: FDM versus conformado convencional y CIM (Ceramic Injection Moulding) (Multimethod Comparison of Alumina: FDM versus Conventional Forming and Ceramic Injection Moulding (CIM))”, developed by ITC-AICE and AIMEN. The poster showcased ongoing work and results generated within the StreamSTEP project, highlighting innovative approaches to advanced ceramic manufacturing processes and their potential for industrial applications.
The participation of StreamSTEP at CNMAT 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate project activities and engage with researchers, engineers, and industry professionals working in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.
About CNMAT 2026
CNMAT 2026 continues the long-standing tradition of the national congresses organised every two years by the Spanish Society of Materials (SOCIEMAT). The 18th edition was organised in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), with the support of the Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon University and the technological centres Azterlan-BRTA and Tekniker-BRTA.
The congress took place at the Bilbao School of Engineering in Portugalete, a historic industrial and maritime town located on the Left Bank of the Bilbao Estuary. The region has played a key role in the industrial development of the Basque Country, particularly through its iron mining, steelmaking, and shipbuilding activities, and today continues to serve as a hub for innovation and technological advancement.
CNMAT 2026 brought together scientists, technologists, and industry representatives to exchange knowledge, present cutting-edge research, and discuss emerging trends in Materials Science and Engineering. The programme featured plenary and invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions covering a wide range of topics across the materials sector.
By participating in CNMAT 2026, StreamSTEP further strengthened its visibility within the European materials research community and contributed to discussions on innovative manufacturing technologies, sustainability, and industrial transformation.
