StreamSTEP at the AI & the Smart Factory Conference
On Wednesday, March 18, partners from CORE Innovation Centre (CORE IC) once again took part in the AI & the Smart Factory Conference, offering attendees the opportunity to discover the StreamSTEP project. At a dedicated booth, a range of communication materials was presented, highlighting the project’s objectives, innovations, and expected impact.
The conference brought together leading professionals from industry, technology, and research to explore a key question: what does a “Smart Factory” truly mean within the Greek context? Through practical insights and open discussions, it became clear that digital transformation is no longer a distant vision, but an ongoing process driven by incremental, measurable steps on the shop floor.
The agenda focused on real-world applications and tangible outcomes, showcasing technologies that are already reshaping modern production. Topics included the adoption of artificial intelligence, IT/OT convergence, predictive maintenance, data-driven decision-making, and improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) with measurable return on investment.
With strong participation from major players in Greek industry, the conference served as a valuable platform for exchange and collaboration. It reinforced the idea that the future of manufacturing is being built through practical implementation rather than hype-laying solid foundations for the next generation of Smart Factories in Greece.
