StreamSTEP at NTNU Energy Transition Week

On March 16th, StreamSTEP was proudly represented at the NTNU Energy Transition Week, where our project coordinator, Sarina Bao, participated in the workshop “Metal Meets Megawatts: Innovations for an Energy-efficient Industry,” organized by FME ZeMe.

This dynamic workshop brought together experts from both research and industry to explore practical approaches and cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency and flexibility in metallurgical processes. The event highlighted the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing the energy challenges faced by energy-intensive industries.

During the workshop, Sarina delivered a presentation showcasing the StreamSTEP project, emphasizing its role in advancing smarter, more efficient industrial energy use. Her talk illustrated how StreamSTEP provides a concrete and practical example of how innovative solutions can contribute to meaningful energy savings in complex industrial environments.

In addition to her presentation, Sarina joined the closing panel discussion, where key topics included:

  • The potential for further energy savings within different expert fields

  • The geopolitical dimensions of energy efficiency and industrial transformation

The workshop served not only as a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, but also as an important opportunity for the dissemination of the StreamSTEP project. Showcasing the project in such a high-level forum increased its visibility among key stakeholders from both industry and research, reinforcing its role in driving innovation and supporting the transition toward a more energy-efficient and sustainable industrial future.
