StreamSTEP at the HEATERNAL Prototype Demonstration Workshop

As part of StreamSTEP’s ongoing networking activities and collaboration with other EU-funded projects and initiatives, project partner TORRECID participated in the “HEATERNAL Prototype Demonstration Workshop: Thermal Storage for Industrial Applications”.

The workshop, organised by the HEATERNAL EU project, took place on 17 June 2026 at CEA in Grenoble, France. Held in a hybrid format, the event brought together project partners, researchers, industry professionals, stakeholders, and online participants interested in innovative high-temperature thermal energy storage solutions for energy-intensive industries.

Representing TORRECID and the StreamSTEP ceramic demonstration case, Carlos Concepción delivered a presentation entitled “Industrial Heat Storage Integration in EII.” During the event, he also introduced the StreamSTEP project and shared its communication materials with workshop participants, contributing to the dissemination of the project’s activities and strengthening synergies between the two EU-funded initiatives.

The workshop marked an important milestone in the HEATERNAL project’s efforts to develop a viable high-temperature thermal energy storage (TES) solution for energy-intensive industries, including the steel, glass, cement, and ceramics sectors.

StreamSTEP’s participation provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore common challenges, and foster collaboration in the development and industrial integration of innovative thermal energy management and storage technologies.
